    • We currently only have the option to ship to Ireland and Northern Ireland, if you would like one of our products delivered to another country, please contact us by emailing marketing@greencoffins.ie

    • If you don’t receive your order or you would like it to be tracked, please contact us.

  • All our eco coffins are tested to a minimum of 20 stone – some are tested to 40+ stone. Funeral directors deal with us as a company because they are happy with the strength and durability of our products and our service.

  • The idea behind eco or green coffins is that they are made using sustainable materials. We don’t use chipboard or solid timbers like oak which grows for hundreds of years. There is a misconception that one of the main reasons for choosing “green coffins” is that they break down quicker than traditional coffins - this is not true - willow coffins will last as long or longer than most chipboard coffins in the ground. The oldest coffin ever found in Ireland was a willow coffin from many thousands of years ago. The lifespan of any buried coffin however varies due to ground conditions.

  • Yes, all our coffins can be carried by handles. This is unlike most conventional coffins where you are advised not to carry the coffin by the plastic or metal handles. Our handles are woven into the structure of all our coffins, which makes them easier to carry.

  • BURIAL

Yes all graveyards in Ireland and the UK accept our coffins.

    CREMATION

All crematoriums accept our coffins, except our cardboard coffins which are not accepted in any crematorium in Dublin. They (the cardboard coffins) are however accepted in the crematoriums in Northern Ireland, Cork and the whole of the UK.

The crematorium in Cavan and Shannon will only accept our willow coffins.

  • AT GREEN COFFINS IRELAND WE STRIVE TO MAKE OUR "GREEN COFFINS" AVAILABLE IN AS SIMPLE AND AS HASSLE FREE WAY AS POSSIBLE.

In Ireland, however, in the majority of cases, coffins are required within hours of death. You can see our stockist lists for help

For those thinking ahead - or those who have time you should talk to your chosen funeral director about getting one of our products and making it available.
